Obituary of Thomas Alvin Collins

Mr. Thomas A. “Tom” Collins, age 85, of Harriman, passed away Friday November 24, 2017 at his home. Tom served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Harriman.

Tom was preceded in death by one daughter: Yvonne Lee Collins.

He is survived by his wife: Josephine “Jo” Collins.

His children and their spouses: Carmen and Ken Nichols of Harriman, Lois N. Parson, Thomas A. Collins, and Christy and Bernard Payne all of Cleveland, TN.

Three step-daughters: Terri Brown and her husband Greg also of Cleveland, Wanda Kay Robbins of Raleigh, NC and Rebecca Staton of Harriman.

Fifteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two special great grandchildren: Anaken Elijah Nichols and Adelaide Noelel Holbrook, two special nephews: Ronald and Donald Barefield, along with several other nieces, nephews, family, friends and loved ones.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 28, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Life Baptist Church in Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 PM with Rev. Tommy Kilby officiating. Graveside services will be Wednesday November 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
